Outreach at the First Church of Monson is the members' faithful response to God's grace by helping our neighbors in need.  We serve by working together with partners, locally and globally, building relationships, and sharing our time, talents, and financial resources.  Some of the ways we help include:

• We promote four special offerings and appeals in the UCC that are targeted for specified needs:  One Great Hour of Sharing, Strengthen the Church, Neighbors in Need, and Christmas Fund.

• We place a Mitten Tree in the narthex during Advent to collect donations of mittens, hats, gloves and scarves to be delivered to the Springfield Rescue Mission.

​

• We host a booth at the annual "Lights of Hope" family-friendly event held in Monson.  The mission is to bring awareness, compassion, and support for those struggling with addiction.

​

• We sponsor an "Undie Sunday" to receive donations of underwear, tee shirts and socks to be delivered to the Springfield Rescue mission.

​

• Outreach and Christian Education hosts several community events each year such as the Easter Egg Hunt and Breakfast with Santa.

• The Memorial Garden at First Church was completed with the installation of the bell and engraved brick pavers in December of 2021.  Please click here to purchase a brick.
