Choir rehearsals for the adult choir

Thursdays, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. downstairs in the Sunday School area.

Singers will meet downstairs in the Sunday School area. Anyone who enjoys singing is welcome to be a member of the choir; this includes young people, Grades 9-12. No auditions are necessary. Kiel has many plans for our music program and looks forward to another year of meaningful selections to enhance the worship of First Church.

Saturday, December 6th, 9:00 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall

Breakfast with Santa - On December 6 beginning at 9:00 a.m., spend the morning with Jolly Ole’ Saint Nick and friends. Enjoy breakfast, crafts, and treats. Then, gather around as the Grinch and company performs an amazing story and families can take their picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus. All are welcome!​

Hearts Willing Christmas Social

December 6 from 2-4 p.m. at Jeff Lord’s house

​Hearts Willing Christmas Social will be held on December 6 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. This year’s event will be hosted by Jeff Lord at 33 Green Street in Monson. Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share. Sign-up sheets will be in Fellowship Hall. Beverages will be provided by the Program Committee.

Handbell Concert

Sunday, December 7th, 3:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Church, 22 Green Street, Monson

A special event is taking place in Monson on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 3 p.m. at St. Patrick Church, 22 Green Street. “Chime In!” is a handbell choir from Bethlehem, Connecticut, directed by Rick Wood.  Click here for more information

Trip to Bethlehem Pageant Using 5 Senses

December 13, 6:00 p.m., in the Sunday School area

​Journey to Bethlehem Community Christmas Pageant – On December 13, beginning at 6:00 p.m., come and experience the story of Christmas like never before! Grab your passport and explore our Bethlehem marketplace and immerse yourself in the daily life of long ago. Then, we will gather together for the community pageant where all are invited to participate in the interactive retelling of the story! Please come! It won’t be the same without you!

Main Street Tavern Fundraising Night

Thursday, December 18th, 4:00 to 10:00pm at Main Street Tavern, 218 Main St., Monson

Once a month, First Church hosts a fundraising event at the Main Street Tavern, Monson.  First Church receives 10% of the evening’s proceeds.  The public is welcome to attend.  Please stop by and join friends for dinner or pick up some take out for the evening.  

• Main Street Tavern Night for December will be hosted by the Board of Deacons.

• Please note: this is the third Thursday of the month due to holidays

Modern Nativity Movie - "God Will Get You There"

“God Will Get You There” Movie Première On Friday, December 19th at 7:00 p.m. join us for the première of this original movie to be shown in the sanctuary. With a mix of actors from the community and the church, this amazing movie is a modern retelling of the nativity story. You don’t want to miss this!​

Seasonal Music and Carol Sing

Sunday, December 21st at the Silver Street Chapel, 230 Silver Street, Monson

All are welcome to join Kiel and the choir at the Silver Street Chapel, 230 Silver Street, Monson, on Sunday, December 21 at 3 p.m. for a performance/sing-a-long. The choir will perform several numbers, but we want you to join in for most of the carols and songs.  There is no admission charge and refreshments will be available.
