July 1st - August 31st

The trustees will be refurbishing the Fellowship Hall this summer. They will sheetrock the walls above the chair rail, fix the walls below the chair rail, and remove the unused electrical chase by the kitchen door. They will also put porcelain tile flooring in the first ten feet from the entrance into the room, making cleanup easier where food is served.  We are planning a soft sage green above the chair rail and a deeper sage on the lower walls and the trim.  The color will bring out the greens in the stained glass windows.  For those of you who have been around a long time, we will have a Green Room again!

This project will begin approximately July 1 and continue through August.  The Fellowship Hall will not be open during this time.  Sunday fellowship, meetings, Bible study, etc. will all need to make different plans for the summer months.  I hope this notice gives you and your committees enough time to plan.  We know that this will cause an inconvenience for some, but we hope that the end result will be worth it!  We would suggest the library whenever possible for meetings - it is air conditioned.  Please contact the church office at office@firstchurchmonson.org or 413-267-3312 and we can be sure to get you scheduled.  Thanks for your understanding.

Choir rehearsals for the adult choir

Thursdays, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. downstairs in the Sunday School area.

Adult Choir Rehearsal will begin on Thursday, September 3rd from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. downstairs in the Sunday School area. Anyone who loves to sing is welcome to sing with our choir. The choir is open to high school students, Grades 9-12. Please come and invite your friends.  ​​

​Town Wide Tag Sale

Saturday, September 5th

The Town Wide Tag Sale is held on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend; this year it is September 5. First Church runs this event and needs the help of many volunteers to make it successful. Suzanne Kelley will soon be asking for your help in various ways. Please plan to give some time to distribute and retrieve tag sale signs around town, set up for the tag sale on Friday, sell guidebooks on Saturday, work in our food booth, and take down everything Saturday afternoon. Church Tag Sale

Saturday, September 5th

On Saturday, September 5, First Church will have a tag sale set up in our parking lot. Donations are needed to make this a success for the church. Suggestions include decorative items, small pieces of furniture, tools, sporting goods, costume jewelry, kitchen goods, children’s toys, games, and puzzles. Please make sure all donations are clean, free of mold and rust, and in good working order. We cannot accept electronics, upholstered furniture, or anything incomplete or broken. Donations may be brought to the church on the afternoon or evening of Friday, September 4, or early Saturday morning. Boutique or antique items would be much appreciated!

​​Let's Eat Breakfast Is On A Diet For The Summer

Next Breakfast Will Be On Sunday, September 13th, 8:00am to 9:30am In The Fellowship Hall

Our Let’s Eat breakfast has moved to the second Sunday of each month. Come enjoy a hearty breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. before worship. Donations are gratefully accepted but not required.  Click Here For More Info.

Main Street Tavern Fundraising Night

Thursday, August 27th, 4:00 to 10:00pm at Main Street Tavern, 218 Main St., Monson

First Church benefits whether you dine in or take out. Tavern Nights will continue throughout the year on the fourth Thursday of the month. Your support is greatly appreciated!  This months Tavern Night is hosted by the Stewardship Committee.

Mondays, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in The Fellowship Hall.
