The Sanctuary Concert Series

The Artist

Peter Edwin Krasinski holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education and Organ Performance and the Master of Sacred Music Degree from Boston University.  He is broadly recognized as a motivating consultant for the pipe organ community, as a conductor, organist, and music educator whose imaginative and energetic performances elevate and inform audiences.  Along with regular concert appearances, he specialized in live improvised silent film accompaniment, worldwide.  He has premiered the art in major venues in North America, Europe, and Asia.  He is the recipient of the First Prize of Improvisation from the American Guild of Organists National Competition, House Organist of the Providence Performing Arts Center, and Principal Organist of Mechanics Hall, Worcester.  Mr. Krasinski was past Dean of the Boston Chapter of the AGO.  He is Organist at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Boston (Mission Church), First Church of Christ, Scientist, Providence, accompanied at Beth El Temple in Belmont, MA, and has presented Master Classes at the Sibelius Academy, Helsinki, Finland.  In accompanying silent film, Peter Krasinski takes us on a fresh, exciting journey.

The Program

Imagine going to the movies over 100 years ago.  The films were silent, and the only sound was an organ or piano and maybe an orchestra.  The First Church of Monson will be recreating this period on October 25, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. when the silent film “Peter Pan” will be shown.  Noted organist Peter Krasinski will provide original improvised accompaniment as the film progresses.  The music will be played on our 1892 Johnson & Son pipe organ.
